This Gem from the superhit movie ‘Kashmir Ki Kali‘ is based on “Raag Pahadi“. Well, I read somewhere that O. P. Nayyar never ever worked with the most famous female singer of Bollywood ‘Lata Mangeshkar’. O. P. Nayyar after losing Gita Dutt from the playback singing world never took anyone except Asha Bhosle as a lead singer. The story goes that at one point one of the directors suggested to Lata Ji for using O. P. Sahab as the music director.

It said that Lata Ji replied saying he is too new and unestablished in the film industry and it would be taking a big chance!!!. After that OP Sahab went on to give hit after hit numbers for over 25 years. Once when OP Sahab won an award, Lata Ji came to him with a gift of Champagne. OP Sahab took and smashed the bottle right there on the floor!!! 😳
