समय के हाथ में आरी है
वक़्त से पंजा मत लेना
वक़्त का पंजा भारी है

सिंग हवा के न पकड़ो
आंधी है ये न पकड़ो
जड़ो के ताके कट जायेंगे
मर कुल्हाड़ी न पकड़ो

काल की अरे काल की
लाठी बड़ी ही सख्त है
बंदोबस्त है जबर्दस्त
हमारा हुक्मरां कम्बखत है

जो मट्टी में उगते हैं
उनको दफना के क्या होगा
जो नंगे तन जीते हैं
