Lata Mangeshkar’s Humne Dekhi Hai Un Aankhon Ki Lyrics in Hindi & English with Meaning or Translation from the movie Khamoshi (1969).
The film is based on a Bengali short story titled, ‘Nurse Mitra’ by noted Bengali writer, Ashutosh Mukherjee, and is an almost frame-by-frame remake of director Asit Sen’s own Bengali film, Deep Jwele Jaai (1959) starring Suchitra Sen.
This song is the definition of true love, love is not always getting what you want for yourself but sacrificing even your life for someone you love without any second thought. Really great poetry by Gulzar Sahab and the melodic voice of Lata Ji is simply awesome. I love this song it’s so close to my heart.

Humne Dekhi Hai Un Aankhon Ki Lyrics in English with Meaning or Translation
Humne Dekhi Hai Un Aankhon Ki Mehakti Khusboo
Haath Se Chhoo Ke Ise Rishton Ka Ilzaam Na Do
Sirf Ehsaas Hai Yeh Rooh Se Mehsoos Karo
Pyaar Ko Pyaar Hi Rahne Do Koi Naam Na Do
(We have seen the smell of those eyes
Don’t accuse it of a relationship by touching it with your hand
It’s just a feeling, feel it with your soul
let love be love, don’t give it any name)
Pyaar Koi Bol Nahi, Pyaar Awaaz Nahi
Ek Khamoshi Hai, Sunti Hai, Kaha Karti Hai
Na Yeh Bujhti Hai, Na Rukti Hai, Na Thehri Hai Kahin
Noor Ki Boond Hai, Sadiyon Se Baha Karti Hai
Sirf Ehsaas …
(love is not a word, love is not a voice
It is a silence, which listens and says
Ít neither extinguishes, nor stops, nor is it standing anywhere
It is a drop of light that sheds for centuries
It’s just a feeling…)
Muskurahat Si Khili Rahti Hai Aankhon Mein Kahin
Aur Palkon Pe Ujale Se Jhuke Rahte Hai
Honth Kuch Kehte Nahi, Kaanpte Honthon Pe Magar
Kitne Khamosh Se Afsaane Ruke Rahte Hai
Sirf Ehsaas …
(A smile keeps blooming somewhere in the eyes
And bow down to the light on the eyelids
Lips don’t say anything but keep on trembling
How many stories keep silent
It’s just a feeling…)
