Qaatil Ko Aaj Apne Hi Ghar Le Ke Aa Gaya
(Perhaps I arrive heralding the dawn of life today,
Ushering the murderer into my own house today)
 
Taa-Umr Dhundta Raha Manzil Main Ishq Ki
Anjaam Ye Ke Garde Safar Le Ke Aa Gaya
(All life I rummaged for the elusive destination of love,
I come adorned, therefore, in the dust of every lane and alley)
 
Nashtar Hai Mere Haath Mein Kaandhon Pe Maikada
Lo Main Ilaaze Dard-E-Jigar Le Ke Aa Gaya
(A lancet in my hand, the tavern flung over my shoulders
Lo!! The messiah comes with the panacea of heart-ache today)
 
‘Fakir’ Sanam Kade Mein Na Aata Main Lautkar
Ik Zakhm Bhar Gaya Tha Idhar Le Ke Aa Gaya
(Fakir I’d not have returned back to the idol-temple again,
